This condo built circa 2002 was long overdue for an injection of personality. Its open floor plan -- kitchen, living room and home office are interconnected -- had great potential, but a beige and brown existence.
The Bull River and surrounding marshes provide a backdrop for all of the public spaces. Those natural elements informed color selections, premium surfaces, and lighting throughout the condo.
River life with shrimp boats and sails passing into view inspired a custom stainless steel leg, abstracted from a ship's hull, supporting the island table top.
Once a claustrophobic and dark entry, we removed the arched doorways, opening up the space and connecting the foyer to the amazing water views.
The back splash and floor tile installed by Cornermen Custom Tile, the contemporary cabinets from Jamestown Design Kitchens and the Cambria counter tops reflect the current owners' personality. Photos by Richard Leo Johnson of Atlantic Archives.
